Chhatarpur. A show-cause notice was sent to a junior supply officer for allegedly serving 'cold' tea to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and a reply was sought from him within three days. The notice was issued by Rajnagar SDM DP Dwivedi of Chhatarpur district to Rakesh Kanhua, Junior Supply Officer posted in Rajnagar on July 11. Dwivedi also confirmed this on Tuesday. However, a day after the notice was issued, this notice was revoked after the administration's heavy grit and opposition from the Congress.
In fact, on July 11, Chief Minister Chouhan and state BJP president Vishnudutt Sharma had come to the Khajuraho airport. From Khajuraho, the Chief Minister had gone to Rewa in the run up to the civic body elections, while Sharma had left from Khajuraho towards Katni.
The notice issued to Kanhua read, “During the transit visit of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to Khajuraho airport on July 11, you (Rakesh) were entrusted with the responsibility of arranging tea and snacks as per the menu, but, information has been received that the Chief Minister was served low quality tea which was not upto the standard and was even cold.
