Bhopal AIIMS blood bank matter raised in Parliament, 10 yr old girl died due to transfusion of HIV+ve blood

The matter of negligence in the functioning of the blood bank of Bhopal AIIMS was raised in the Parliament. BJP MP from Narmadapuram Rao Udaypratap said in Lok Sabha that a lot of complaints have been received regarding the blood bank of Bhopal AIIMS. The MP also said that not only other groups of patients, but HIV infected blood was transfused. This should be taken care of immediately.
These malpractices came to the fore
A family residing in Adampur Cantonment had complained to the PMO that their 10-year-old girl was given blood transfusion on March 11 last year without a test. Due to this the child became infected with HIV and later she also died.
AIIMS
In another case, even after a blood donor was infected with HIV, there was a complaint of not informing him about it. On the other hand, the third complaint is about transfusion of blood of the second group to the patient.
Investigation
The team of Central Drug Standard and Control Organization (CDSCO) and Food and Drug Administration Department of MP also found that the records of patients in this institute were not maintained as per the prescribed norms of blood bank. For this, a show cause notice was also issued to AIIMS on behalf of the drug administration. Due to the lack of coordination between doctors here for a long time, patients are not getting facilities
