Sanchi(Raisen): Petty government arrangements forces people to perform self Covid test while a gardener of the hospital instructs them

Sanchi (Raisen) Madhya Pradesh : On one hand Corona cases are increasing day by day in the state of Madhya Pradesh and on the other hand the government arrangements are the most disappointing one. A gardener at a government hospital in Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district was assigned to collect samples for Covid-19 tests.
Halke Ram was seen collecting samples while people, who came to get themselves tested for the infection at the hospital, were seen performing a 'self' Covid test. People were seen collecting their own throat samples while Ram instructed them on how to insert the swab.
Halke Ram claimed he was collecting samples because everyone in the hospital had been infected by the deadly virus.
"I am a gardener. Also, I'm not a permanent employee of the hospital but I am collecting samples because all others at the hospital have been infected," Halke Ram said.
The block medical officer, who is in charge of the hospital, defended the move and said the gardener had been trained.
"What can we do? The staff has got infected but work has to go on and therefore as an emergency alternative, we have trained several people including the gardener to collect samples," Block Medical Officer Rajshiri Tidke said.
Madhya Pradesh reported 6,489 fresh coronavirus and 37 fatalities due to the infection on Monday. The active cases in the state stood at 38,651 and the Covid-19 death toll reached 4,221.
