Fraudster swaps ATM card with Chattarpur's Principal, withdraws Rs. 2.85 Lakhs from Bhopal's ATM. Kohefiza police registeres FIR

Bhopal: Rs 2.85 lakh was withdrawn by changing the debit card of a school principal of Chhatarpur at an ATM booth in Bhopal. He came to know about the forgery when he saw the message of withdrawal from the bank on his mobile phone. After this he lodged a complaint with the police. On his complaint, the Kohefiza police have started investigation by registering a case under sections of cheating. The incident is of HDFC Bank ATM Airport Road Kohefiza on 22 December.
According to the Kohefiza police of Bhopal, 53-year-old Sunil Kumar Mishra, a resident of Naogaon Chhatarpur, is the principal of a school. On December 22, he had come from Chhatarpur to Bhopal for school work. The same day in the afternoon, he reached the HDFC Bank ATM on Airport Road to withdraw money. As soon as he went inside the booth, an unknown young man also reached there and started talking about withdrawing money quickly. At that time Sunil Mishra was withdrawing money, at the same time the young man started making noise. Meanwhile, he forcibly took out his debit card from the ATM and handed it over to him.
The principal expressed apprehension that possibly at the same time the young man changed the ATM and later withdrew the money using his ATM. However, by the time he got information about withdrawal of money from his account, he had reached Chhatarpur. He immediately reached the bank and got the account blocked. After coming back to Bhopal on Monday, he complained about the whole matter at Kohefiza police station. Where the search for the accused has been started by registering an FIR. The police have asked the bank management for the footage of that ATM on 22 December.
