DGP MP leads Bhopal police foot marching out on streets, says ‘important aspect’ of basic policing

Madhya Pradesh: The foot patrol of the police on busy roads, markets and other places in the evening is an important aspect of basic policing. It is being felt from the past that there is a need to bring more activeness in this important mode of policing. This was also mentioned in the DG conference. It was also said by Hon'ble Chief Minister recently during the program at 12 No. Multi that police visibility should be more during evening. In the same vein, on Saturday 30th July, on the instructions of DGP Shri Saxena, a foot tour campaign was conducted in the entire state. During this, IG / Police Commissioner, DIG / Additional CP, SP / DCP, ASP / Additional DCP, SDOP / Assistant CP and in-charge of about one thousand police stations and 550 outposts of all zones of the state from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday evening. The in-charge went out on foot patrol. The police officers took stock of the police system during the visit. In Bhopal, DGP Sudhir Saxena along with the officers walked for about two hours from Kotwali police station to Peergate, Chowk Bazar, Itwara intersection, Mangalwara, Ghoda Nakkas, Nadra bus stand, Hanumanganj, Tilajmalpura, Gautamnagar and Shahjahanabad police stations. It is to be known that this area is sensitive from the point of view of law and order and processions and moving ceremonies on all important festivals pass through here. Patrols were carried out on foot by senior officers across the state in congested and sensitive areas in their respective districts. During foot patrolling, public interaction with the general public was also done by senior officers. The main objective of the foot patrol program is to strengthen the sense of security among the common people, to ensure the availability and visibility of the police among the common people. Such foot patrolling will be ensured at regular intervals throughout the state.
