MP Government to hire veteran lawyers to urge HC for 27% reservation

OBC Reservation: Shivraj Singh's government, surrounded by the issue of 27 percent reservation for backward classes in Madhya Pradesh has now made a new strategy under which it has been decided that in the next hearing in the High Court, veteran lawyers will represent the side of the government and urge the court to consider this hearing as final and approve 27 percent reservation in the interest of backward classes.
The meeting of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the backward class ministers of his cabinet lasted for three hours on this issue. Which was presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. After the meeting, the state's Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh told that the meeting discussed how to ensure 27 percent OBC reservation in the state.
Veteran lawyers will be hired
It has been decided in the meeting that the services of eminent lawyers of the country will be taken in the next hearing regarding this reservation in the court so that 27 percent reservation can be ensured in the interest of backward classes. It has been decided that the services of other veteran lawyers including Ravi Shankar Prasad and Tushar Mehta, who are among the senior lawyers of the country, should be taken for this. In this hearing, the Advocate General himself will urge the court that considering this hearing as final, 27 percent reservation should be approved in the interest of backward classes.
It was reiterated in the meeting that the Shivraj government is bound by the promise of giving 27 percent reservation to the backward classes. It is known that in 2019, the Kamal Nath government had decided to increase the reservation for the backwards, which later got stuck in the High Court. The court stayed the government's decision on having more than fifty percent reservation, after which this ban remains intact and both the BJP-Congress parties are blaming each other.
