Bhopal Crime Branch arrests absconding gambling operator from Devas

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: The Bhopal Crime Branch has apprehended a gambling operator who was absconding from the law in Devas. The accused used to take money for betting through phone-pe.
The gambling operator from Bhopal was connected to the betting racket of Deva's gambling operator. He used to take money through online transactions.
The Bhopal Crime Branch team arrested Jagdish alias Mukesh, a resident of Deva's, in accordance with the directions given by Police Commissioner Shri Harinarayanchari Mishra to prevent crimes and catch absconding criminals. The operation was led by Crime Branch SP Shri Shruti Kirti Somvanshi, along with additional Police Deputy Commissioner Shailendra Singh Chauhan and other police officials.
Details of the incident: The Crime Branch received information that a person near Hari Chowk Yoga Center, Kamla Nagar, Bhopal, was involved in betting through mobile phones. The Crime Branch staff and witnesses confirmed the involvement of the accused, Abhijeet Singh Rajput, son of Ramesh Chand Rajput, aged 40, resident of H-87 Government Quarter Kotra, Kamla Nagar, Bhopal.
The police seized a betting slip and cash amounting to Rs. 10605/-, and a mobile phone from the accused. He has been charged under Section 4 of the Gambling Act and Section 109 of the IPC.
